BLUE POINT BIRMAN

BLEU (French) is his name and blue (English) is his color.  He is a beautiful, BLUE POINT BIRMAN with deep blue eyes!  Bleu is 7 years old and weighs 9.6 lbs.  He is front-paw declawed and still has his back claws.  Bleu is up to date on vaccinations, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, is neutered, and is microchipped in preparation for a new, loving home.

Bleu was surrendered by his owner who desperately wanted to keep the kitty she acquired as a kitten from a cat-show breeder.  Unfortunately, the choice was not hers because Bleu made it clear he did not wish to live in the presence of a small child.  She taught Bleu that getting brushed feels wonderful as his dense coat was impeccable and is easy for his foster mom to maintain.  It took a little time for Bleu to become comfortable in his foster home, but he is now relaxed enough to enjoy chasing DaBird on the wand and bunny-kicking catnip stuffed toys.  He approaches for pets, flops onto the floor, and rolls to his back for rubdowns and combing.  He isn’t a lap cat, but wants to be in the presence of his humans and lay near them on the sofa or in his felt cave on the coffee table.

Bleu is quite athletic in his ability to jump to towers and ledges where he can look out the windows or lay on top a bookcase.  He is eating prescription dry food Hills C/D for urinary tract as the wet food causes digestive issues.  For certain he doesn’t drink enough water so he receives half a packet of Hydracare with some water added twice per day.

As Bleu is opinionated about his home environment, his adopter must be highly experienced with cats and able to read their body language.  For him, this is more important than experience with long-haired cats.  Bleu cannot be placed in a home with children, nor cats, nor dogs.  As he gets concerned about noises in the home without knowing the source, he cannot be placed into an apartment.  While Bleu was happy with his previous owner, he is now seeking his happily ever after where the composition of the home is not likely to change over time (no future children, no future dogs, nor additional cats).
